Maths with Mrs Barlow

This week Mrs Barlow did a lesson with us about statistics and the different types of graphs we can use to represent data.

Term 3, Week 2

Our Amazing Witches!

Mrs Hanson read us a story about a friendly witch who could not cast bad spells. The book was called 'The Witch with an Itch' by Helen Baugh and Deborah Allwright. We then listened to the story of Bad Jelly the Witch.  We decided which witch we would create. Mrs Hanson showed us how to make paper mache noses.

Term 3, Week 1

Welcome back to Term 3!

Over the next two weeks we are lucky enough to have the Life Education caravan visiting our school. We have two special lessons in the caravan with Corrine and Harold the giraffe.

The Year 2 children are learning about being sensitive and respectful towards others, understanding what empathy is and learning about how our actions affect others. We are also learning about the qualities that make a good leader and about being reliable and committed to activities or groups we join.

Term 2, Weeks 5 & 6

Weeks 5 & 6 were our last two weeks with our wonderful student teacher Miss Lee. We wrote some great narratives and also created some lovely sparkly hands to share some information about our culture.

Term 2, Week 4

Capacity and Length

This term we have been learning about capacity and length. We have completed some great activities to learn about measurement and capacity by making gingerbread men. We also made out own cities and measured the buildings.

Term 2, Week 3

Our Autumn Poems

Mrs Delowe has created a wonderful display in our classroom of  some autumn poems we wrote. She then laminated some autumn leaves together with our poems.

Term 2, Week 2

Keeping Ourselves Safe

This week Constable Harwood came to school to talk to us about how to keep ourselves safe. We learnt about the information we need to know about ourselves so that someone can help us if we become lost.

We should know: Our first and last name, our Mum and/or Dad's name and phone number, our address and suburb.
