Our Chameleons

Mrs Hanson read us a story about chameleons and we learnt  a lot of interesting facts. We then drew our own chameleon and on Friday we wrote a description of our chameleon. Here is some of our work.

Our School Tryathlon

Last week we were very excited to arrive at school and see a lot of bikes on the field. The Middle and Senior Syndicates held their tryathlon on Thursday during the middle block. It was a very warm and humid day and despite a bit a drizzle it looks like they all had fun. We watched some of the races with the other Year 2 classes as it was such a big distraction for us and it was also great to support everyone participating in both individual and team events.

Term 1 Week 8

We have begun a unit of work called the Earth, Sun and Moon. We have started the unit by looking at change and also how cycles work. We looked at the cycle of  a day and then the seasons in a year.

Our Junior Syndicate Swimming Carnival

Thank you so much for coming to support our swimming carnival. We had a lot of fun and the sun shone for a great afternoon.

Cricket

For the next few weeks we will be learning some fun cricket skills.

Term 1 Week 5

In Week 5 we hosted the first full school assembly together with our buddy class Room 11. We shared our learning about recycling soft plastics and what we have been doing in Room 16. It was such a great message to share with our school community. Thank you Room 11 for being such a great buddy class!

Term 1 Week 4

Our Self Portraits

We made some wonderful self portraits using pastels and dye. We first learnt how to divide our piece of paper into quarters so that we could get the proportions of our faces correct. We then learnt how to sketch lightly and were not allowed to use a rubber. We coloured in our faces with pastels and Mrs Hanson dyed the background. 

Mrs Hanson thinks we did a wonderful job, especially considering we are only 5 or 6 years old!
